At the heart of Helsinki, where journeys cross and rhythms collide, you’ll find Taulu. A place shaped by movement and the moments in between.
The Helsinki Central Railway Station, designed by architect Eliel Saarinen and opened in 1919, is one of Finland’s most iconic buildings. A meeting point of movement, architecture, and everyday life. Its granite walls, the soaring spaces, and quiet sense of permanence have witnessed generations of travellers passing through the city.

Today, within this beautifully renovated setting, Taulu adds new life to the building’s story – bringing together the fast and slow mood of the station and the city around it.
Covering more than 300 square meters, Taulu is a restaurant designed to move at your pace. Our à la carte restaurant invites you to slow down and stay awhile. The gastro café serves breakfast and lunch daily, ideal for quick stops or relaxed mornings. As the day turns into evening, the bar becomes a place to unwind, meet, and linger.
The name Taulu is inspired by the large framed painting that anchors the restaurant—a quiet focal point in a space defined by motion. Like the artwork, Taulu offers a moment of presence: something to return to, whether you’re passing through or staying put.

At Taulu, dining is unhurried and familiar, rooted in Finnish classic dishes prepared with care and guided by the seasons. Lunch is served daily, offering comforting flavours that feel both timeless and current. As the day continues, our à la carte menu invites you to stay longer—classic meals reinterpreted for relaxed, thoughtful dining.
Whether you arrive for a quick lunch or settle in for a longer meal, Taulu is a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy food made to feel at home.
